- Continued working on my personal, professional development by attending staff and department meetings, NTIP meetings, and self-reflecting after lessons.
- Formed strong relationships with department colleagues through collaborating on creating assignments, seeking their guidance, and through general get-to-know-you
conversations.
- Presented an “About Me” PowerPoint to introduce myself, so students would feel more comfortable having a new person in the classroom.
- Created a “Get To Know You” assignment to learn who my students were and to understand where they were in their learning thus far.
- Created assignments which incorporated conversation assessments into the rubric so students could practice and showcase their hearing and speaking literacy skills—while at the
same time using their artistic vocabulary.
- Incorporated FNMI history into short works unit for Grade 10 English to provide awareness and create understanding for Indigenous cultures/struggles.
- Co-created classroom rules (i.e: cell phone use) with each class to come to a mutual understanding of the appropriate and respectful way to use their devices

- Spent time in high school classes, as well as K-8 and ASD classes, in order to gather knowledge on different types of learners and begin to find my place as an educator.
- Created activities incorporating collaborative learning to increase student teamwork skills and foster a classroom community.
- Lead photography lessons on developing film in small groups so students would receive more attention and have an easier time asking questions and learning the process.
- Lead one-on-one guided reading sessions with primary grade students to boost their reading confidence and abilities.
